AN ART club has raised hundreds of pounds for charity in tribute to a former member

Guiseley Art Club presented a cheque for £530 to Leonard Cheshire Disability, Calverley, in memory of Pat (Paddy) Hunt who died last year.

A spokesman said Mr Hunt had been a "valued and much loved member."

He added: "The money was raised from the sale of his many art items donated by Liz, his widow. The charity, favoured by Pat because of its support for his disabled granddaughter, also received donations from his funeral collection.

"The art club, which always supports charities at their exhibitions, also raised £55 for Macmillan Cancer Support."

Guiseley Art Club meets on a Monday from 1.30pm to 3.30pm at the Methodist Church, Oxford Road. Anyone interested is invited to drop in or call Chris on 01943 873732 or Carol on 0113 2503023 or e-mail artguiseley@hotmail.co.uk. The next exhibition is on November 1 and 2 at the Methodist Church Hall.
