ILKLEY Grammar School Year 7 students have been enjoying the study of many different religions in their Connect 3 lessons.
The study culminated in visits to both the Gurdwara Sikh Temple in Bradford and Bradford Cathedral. The visits included tours, talks and even sitar playing.
Chris Washington, Key Stage Leader, said: "The groups were fantastically behaved and enjoyed experiencing other faiths and their places of worship. These visits really bring religions to life for our students; they help them put all the pieces together from their RE lessons throughout the year."
Connect 3 is devised by and delivered by staff in the Humanities Curriculum Area for students in Year 7. Topics of a geographical, historical and philosophical character are taught in a variety of ways while continually emphasising the development of personal learning and thinking skills. While the RE groups visited the places of worship the students studying history were understanding and building castles and the students involved in the geography were building erupting volcanoes.
