WITH Ilkley and district audiences enjoying the Hollywood comedy Ken Ludwig’s Shakespeare in Hollywood in the Wharfeside theatre this week, the 25-strong cast and crew will soon be packing up for its Welsh tour.
The plot centres round Warner Brothers’ 1935 production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream where no one gets what they have bargained for.
Currently in performance, this play will finish on Saturday.

Touring to Minack Theatre in Cornwall has been an Ilkley Playhouse tradition for many years. But this will be just the second time that it takes one of its productions to the John Andrews theatre at Oriel Plas Glyn-y-Weddw Arts Centre, Llanbedrog from August 4-6.
Situated on the Llyn peninsula, near Abersoch and at the foot of Snowdonia, the venue is famous for its Gothic mansion, theatre and exhibition space.
Shakespeare in Hollywood will be performed in the venue’s new outdoor theatre which overlooks Cardigan Bay.
Ilkley Playhouse is still taking bookings for the new season during August but will re-open fully with John Buchan’s ‘The 39 Steps’ running from September 8-20, the first of a full autumn programme.
