A police helicopter captured this stunning aerial shot of an Otley school's gigantic Tour-de-France celebration bike.

Pupils at Otley All Saints C of E Primary created the huge bicycle shape piece of art on the school field using carrier bags, bin bags and tent pegs.

The project was led by teachers Janie I'anson and Clare Foxwell and designed to create a dramatic aerial shot - if they could get someone to take to the skies to make that happen.

It was then West Yorkshire Police stepped in, as headteacher Ian Thomson-Smith explained.

He said: "The whole idea is for this to look good from the air so we just needed someone to help us arrange that - and the police helicopter very kindly obliged on Thursday evening.

"There was much excitement when we heard they were coming and they timed it just when the sun popped out, so they got a lovely picture."

The giant bike was just part of All Saints' Tour de France celebrations, which culminated with a big outdoor party on Friday, July 4 - the eve of the race.
