Otley pupils were paid a special visit by some of the country's top cyclists this week.

Sinead Burke, Henrietta Colborne, Mel Lowther, Brit Tate, Nicola Juniper and Elanor Cadzow dropped in on Prince Henry's Grammar School to talk to Year 8 students about the life of a professional athlete.

The elite riders visited on Wednesday afternoon, just hours before competing in the Pinsent Masons GP at Otley Cycle Races - when they were up against Otley's Lizzie Armitstead.

Head of Pinsent Masons' Leeds office, Chris Booth, said: "By sponsoring the Otley Women's GP in the hometown of Olympic silver medallist Lizzie Armitstead, the firm hopes to play a part in encouraging the cycling stars of the future.

"This opportunity with Prince Henry's, where Lizzie went to school, provided us with the perfect chance to put our Starfish programme - which partners with local communities to inspire young lives - into action."
