A permanent timeline documenting the rich history of Otley Courthouse will go on display next month.

The project, by the Otley Courthouse Memories Group supported by a Heritage Lottery Fund award, documents the building’s past and changing roles from 1853 to the current day.

It will be unveiled on Saturday, May 3, to coincide with the Courthouse’s tenth anniversary celebrations weekend.

Running from 11am to 2.30pm, the launch event will also feature a host of free activities for visitors of all ages.

They will include Courthouse storytelling sessions, the chance to have your prisoner ‘mug-shot’ photo and fingerprints taken, a look around the property’s old cell, and making brass rubbings.

Trails and quizzes will be included too along with a film, detailing the changes that have taken place in the town over the past century, that will be projected onto the Courtroom’s big screen.
