A photographer and avid walker who became the Face of Ordnance Survey last year is inviting others to join her on a birthday hike across Ilkley Moor.

Nicky Busby plans to celebrate her 38th birthday on April 12 with an eight-mile social ramble, beginning at the Cow and Calf Rocks.

She has already encouraged several friends who would like to get into hiking to join in but is keen for others to take part.

She said: “There are many people who love hiking just as much as me but there are also those who haven’t the confidence to get out on the hills to hike alone like I do.

“So I thought a social hike would be a great way to meet up with people who want to enjoy the outdoors.”

The walk will include a pub stop at Dick Hudson’s on the opposite side of the moor.

Anyone who wishes to join her should be appropriately dressed for the weather and have sturdy boots.

A packed meal will be required and money to buy a pint of Yorkshire ale.

Walkers should meet at 9.30am to 9.45am to set off at 10am. Anyone interested in taking part should e-mail NickyBusbyPhotography@yahoo.co.uk.
