A councillor has called for action to end repeated missed bin collections at a Yeadon cul-de-sac.
The problem affecting householders in one section of Raywood Close was first raised with Councillor Ryk Downes (Lib Dem, Otley & Yeadon) in mid-January.
A resident told Coun Downes that there had been no black and green bin collections since Christmas – so he took the matter up with Leeds City Council’s refuse service.
He was informed that a smaller vehicle had to be used to make collections from the cul-de-sac, as there was no room for the regular lorry to gain access, but also assured the problem would be addressed.
That, however – as the photo above shows – has not happened.
Coun Downes said: “I believe the next collection – after I contacted highways – did take place but it seems there have been none since.
“Last weekend I received two phone calls and an e-mail all complaining about the lack of collection and the state the road is now in. I have escalated the matter to the head of department and hope the matter will now finally be resolved.”
