Older people in Yeadon are being invited to try out a club designed especially for them.

The Yeadon Senior Citizens Thursday Club was formed as a way of allowing older people to get together.

The club, which meets at Yeadon Town Hall, holds a session of music and movement at about 1.15pm.

A session of dominoes takes place from about 1.45pm to about 3.15pm, with a break for refreshments.

It also runs subsidised trips throughout the year to various locations. It supports a charity each year nominated by the members – with this year’s charity being Macmillan Nurses.

Last year a total of £1,000 was raised for Help for Heroes.

A spokesman said: “We are always pleased to welcome new members so if you are interested please come along one Thursday, you will be made most welcome.

“A yearly subscription of £3 is made and weekly charge of £1.50.”
