A creative mother-of-two from Ilkley is proud to have flourished in her first year in her vintage business, with the support of other local businesswomen.

Jackie Davison set up Rose Pink Vintage, a vintage china hire and event styling business, in January 2013.

Formerly Head of Lower School at Harrogate Ladies College, she says it was a huge step to take the plunge in business.

She credits part of her success to support she has received from other local businesses and groups. Jackie is an active member of the Ilkley Business Forum and women-only networking groups such as Aspiring Women in Business, based in Ilkley, and Ladies Just Wanna Have Lunch, based at The Leeds Club.

She scours antique and charity shops all over Yorkshire, as well as browsing vintage fairs and making trips to local auction rooms, in order to find china, cake stands, linen and vintage props.

She also reuses old objects, utilising them in unusual ways, such as transforming leather suitcases into table plans for weddings and even hand-makes her own bunting.

“I have met so many inspiring people over the last 12 months, that there has never been a dull moment,” she said.

“I am so excited and optimistic about the future and I am really look forward to creating gorgeously-unique weddings, corporate events and vintage-style events all over Yorkshire.”
