A networking scheme in Guiseley will relaunch itself for the New Year with a meeting this month.

More than 70 businesses are now part of the project which was launched two years ago.

The club was set up by businessman Ian Dawes in a bid to prevent the town being overlooked.

Ian, who runs Subway, in White Cross, organised meetings with fellow retailers to help each other increase awareness of businesses in Guiseley.

He argued that when it came to business Guiseley was being overlooked compared to better organised towns such as Ilkley.

A new website, guiseley.net, was set up to promote the group and its work.

Ian said although they didn’t get massive numbers joining, a lot of their work was about passing on information.

“I was hoping that we would get ten or 20 core members which we do on a regular basis,” he said.
