Firefighters from Rawdon helped free a trapped driver by removing the side of his car after a head-on collision on Sunday night. Appliances from Idle and Rawdon attended the incident, which involved a Vauxhall Astra and a Toyota, in Leeds Road, Idle, just after 9pm. The male driver of the Toyota, in his 80s, was taken to Leeds General Infirmary with suspected neck and shoulder injuries.
