An animal charity is challenging Wharfedale pet owners to take part in the Big Pet Check after a new animal welfare report revealed that the health and happiness of millions of UK pets is under threat.

The PDSA is asking pet owners to take part in a fun digital quiz designed to give owners an insight into the five pet welfare needs that all pets need to be healthy and happy.

The campaign has been launched following findings that reveal that the welfare needs of millions of UK pets are still being badly neglected - resulting in a nation of ill, lonely, aggressive, stressed and overweight pets.

The report also revealed that 28 per cent of pets in the region never receive life-saving vaccinations, 48 per cent are not microchipped and only 31 per cent are insured.

To take part in the PDSA Big Pet Check go to abetterlifeforpets.org.uk and by answering a few simple questions owners will receive advice on how to improve their pet’s well-being.
