Reigning World Darts Champion Scott Waites will challenge pub customers in Otley during an all-day festive fundraiser.

‘Scotty 2 Hotty’ Waites, as he’s known to fans, will visit no fewer than 12 of the town’s inns on Saturday, December 28 to raise money for Help for Heroes.

And he will be bringing his 2013 BDO World Darts Championship trophy along with him.

Customers at each of the pubs he visits between noon and 9pm will be able to enjoy a game with Scott or have a photograph taken with the trophy, so long as they donate to the cause.

The fundraiser has been organised by Otley man Ben Calverley, through his Face Man Entertainments business.

He said: “Scott is from Halifax and used to come into a pub I ran over there, which is how I got to know him and we became friends.

“Help for Heroes is his charity of choice.

“Only four or five days after the fundraiser he’ll be back on the BBC defending the trophy that he’s bringing to Otley.”

Scott’s schedule for December 28 is: noon – Grove Hill Social Club; 12.50pm – Cross Pipes; 1.40pm – The Bay Horse; 2.30pm – The Black Bull; 3.20pm – The Otley Tavern; 4.10pm – The Red Lion; 5pm – Whitakers; 5.50pm – Rocca Bar; 6.40pm – The Bowling Green; 7.30pm – The Junction; 8.20pm – The Rose & Crown; 9.10pm – The White Swan.
