A free business start-up workshop will be held in Horsforth in January.

The event is part of a series of workshops for budding entrepreneurs to be held in libraries across Leeds.

Anyone interested in setting up their own business is invited to attend the Horsforth event, between 10.30am and 1.30pm, on Tuesday, January 14, where a range of help and information will be provided. Places must be booked.

The workshop will include support from members of Leeds City Council’s library business team and speakers from Leeds Chamber of Commerce, Job Centre Plus, The Leeds Credit Union and The Institute of Marketing. A firm of accountants will also be joining guest speakers to offer advice.

For more information or bookings, contact Leeds City Council’s Business and IP Centre on (0113) 247 8266. A further event will be held at Otley Library in June on a date to be confirmed.

Councillor Lucinda Yeadon, Leeds City Council’s executive member for leisure and skills, said: “Starting up your own business can sometimes be very daunting and I am delighted therefore that we will be holding a number of events at libraries across the city offering specialist advice and information to budding entrepreneurs.”
