With just two days to go excitement is mounting and expectations are high for the biggest Ilkley Holly Ball yet.

With all seats sold and a large selection of raffle prizes donated by local businesses, including The Box Tree, the Valley Clinic, Virtual College and Lishmans, organisers expect thousands to be raised for the charity The Principle Trust at Saturday’s event.

Rotarians Chris Woodhead and Vernon Young of Ilkley’s Pitscards, alongside local businessman Richard Wellock, relaunched the Holly Ball in September as part of a three-year plan to raise £10,000 for Skipton charity, The Principle Trust.

The Holly Ball, which is being held at the Craiglands Hotel, is breaking its 25-year format with the added twist of food and drink being provided by local businesses including Martinez Wines, Sykes Farm and Timothy Taylors.

“The money raised from the evening will help The Principle Trust purchase a holiday home in Marton Mere, near Blackpool, to give underprivileged and disadvantaged children the opportunity to enjoy a holiday,” said Chris. “It’s an exceptional cause and we can’t thank our sponsors and our guests enough for their donations and ticket purchases.

“With the support of The Craiglands who are putting everything into making this the best Holly Ball yet, hopes are high for a truly exceptional, fund raising event.”
