A fundraising exhibition of wildlife photography has opened in Otley.

The display, featuring striking images captured by Otley resident Richard Barrett, is The Old Grammar School Gallery's final event of 2013.

The exhibition opened last Saturday and will run throughout December, with Mr Barrett donating all of his proceeds to the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).

Gallery manager Zack Whitehead said: “Richard's work is that of a top professional and his images speak for themselves.

“His hobby takes him all over the world seeking out rare and exotic animals. This is the first time his work has been available to see as an exhibition and we have the pleasure of displaying it.

“The display includes a selection of work Richard hopes everyone will enjoy, from images of bears and wildcats to elephants and the more unusual animals such as caracals (wild desert lynx) and iguanas.

“And the WWF has allowed us to use their logos to help promote this wonderful exhibition.”
