Customers at Booths supermarket in Ilkley last Friday were greeted after the checkout by several volunteers from Bradford Samaritans.
The Samaritans were handing out cards explaining what the charity was about. One side of the card said that it was offering a phone or e-mail service to people in distress, while the other side added that volunteers were always needed.
Anyone interested in volunteering for the Samaritans can contact the Bradford Branch at 6 Mornington Villas, Manningham, Bradford BD8 7HB, telephone (01274) 547547 or via the website at samaritans.org.
