Ghyll Royd School pupils plant bulbs and learn about Marie Curie

Pupils throughout Ghyll Royd School in Ilkley Road, Burley-in-Wharfedale, have been planting daffodil bulbs to raise funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Ghyll Royd’s new caretaker David Baxter took small groups of children into the grounds to plant daffodils each day last week at morning break.
The children have chosen places along the driveway and entrance to the school to brighten up the area for next spring. Head teacher Jo Jenkinson delivered an informative assembly on the life and works of Marie Curie last Monday and invited the children to pay a 50p donation to plant a daffodil in the school grounds. She was delighted the children have been so enthusiastic while also planting a beautiful display for everyone to enjoy in the spring.
