Join Otley musical tribute to Dambusters
8:00am Monday 21st October 2013 in Local news
Some tickets are still left for this year’s special Dambusters tribute Poppy Appeal concert in Otley.
The show, organised as always by local Royal British Legion member Irene Willis, takes place at Prince Henry’s Grammar School at 7.30pm on Saturday, October 26.
This year’s concert will feature the Brass Ensemble of the RAF Military College delivering a Salute to the Dambusters – to mark the 70th anniversary of the famous, and highly dangerous, ‘bouncing bomb’ RAF attacks on German dams.
Visiting Chelsea Pensioners and local MPs and councillors will be among the audience on the night. Guiseley resident Mrs Willis said: “We’ve had a good sale of tickets but there are some left for what I think is going to be a lovely evening of music and a great salute to the Dambusters.”
Tickets cost £12.50 with all proceeds going to the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.
They can be booked by calling (01943) 467199.
