Weston cafe owner to down oven mitts to take on firewalk for charity
10:00am Saturday 19th October 2013 in Local news
Cafe owner Sue Sansbury will swap warm buns for hot coals when she takes part in a fundraising firewalk.
Sue, who owns Cock Pit Farm Tea Rooms at Weston, near Otley, has signed up for the challenge to raise money for Behind Closed Doors.
The cafe’s customers chose the Otley-based group, which supports domestic abuse victims, as its charity of the year. The firewalk at Lineham Farm Children’s Centre on Wednesday, October 30, is the latest in a series of events the Cock Pit has arranged to help the cause.
Sue said: “I’m hoping to raise as much as we can and would ask anyone who would like to sponsor us to get in touch.
“People are also welcome to come along from about 7pm on the evening to watch and support.
“I’ve never done anything like this before but I’m really looking forward to it, it’s something I’ve always wanted to try.”
Sue’s firewalk can be sponsored at the cafe or by calling (01943) 464689. More details about attending can be found at linehamfarm.co.uk.
