An Ilkley company that provides broadband and telecom services to businesses and schools is looking forward to celebrating its 1,000th customer.
Talk Straight, based in offices above Dalesway House shopping centre, was started in 2007 by David Tindall and Tim Sedgwick. It now employs 23 staff and has a turnover of £5m.
The company provides broadband and telecoms services to businesses and through its specialist division, Schools Broadband, provides broadband and industry-leading security and content filtering to 500 schools nationwide.
The company sponsored last weekend’s Addingham Beer Festival for the third year.
Dave Tindall, technical director, said: “We’re extremely proud to have seen our business grow from just the three employees that we had five years ago to what we have today and to have brought employment to the local area.
“The business has done incredibly well, given the economic situation over the last few years, and with the continued hard work of our staff the business will continue to go from strength to strength.”
As part of the company’s commitment to the local area, it also supports Leeds Rugby Foundation, donating 50 per cent of profits when a school that uses their service buys their broadband from Talk Straight.
