10:40am Sunday 13th October 2013 in Local news
Women are being invited to form new friendships while helping others by joining Aireborough Soroptimist Club.
An open evening will be held at 7.30pm on Wednesday, October 16, at Guiseley Methodist Church to hear about the work of the international organisation and its Aireborough branch.
The group works on local, national and global projects. It raises money for the Leeds Women’s Refuge, the Neo Natal High Dependency Unit at Leeds Hospital Trust, The Forget Me Not Dementia Cafe in Yeadon and the Friends of Guiseley Cemetery, as well as a number of other charities.
Overseas projects have included working to improve the education and health of women and girls in areas including India, Cape Verde and Africa.
