Addingham night of music for cancer charity
9:00am Monday 16th September 2013 in Local news
A night of musical entertainment is being held to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support next month.
Local band Clear will play covers from the Seventies to the present day at the event which takes place at Addingham Memorial on October 12. The event is being organised by Addingham man Nick Hodgson, who recently trekked the Inca Trail in Peru to raise money for the charity.
Mr Hodgson was one of 47 people who took part in the trek, raising more than £192,000 for Macmillan. He has raised more than £11,000 for the charity himself in the past two years, and hopes the evening in October will beat the £2,300 raised at a similar event last year.
Clear have become well known in the area and played at the recent Live at the Lido event.
The evening is also supported by Ilkley Brewery, whose Mary Jane ale will be available, and Martinez of Ilkley, which is supplying wines.
There will be a charity raffle and auction of prizes supplied by local businesses. Mr Hodgson is also asking if any local businesses will donate raffle or auction prizes to help boost the fundraising.
For tickets, £5, contact (01943) 830893 or 07780 439102 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
Hot food and drinks will be available to buy on the evening.
