Yorkshire Dales Society hopes to help people go fundraising
8:00am Wednesday 18th September 2013 in Local news
The Yorkshire Dales Society is looking for walkers to take part in its first ever sponsored walk later this month.
Walkers will be able to choose from a 14-mile hike, which will include an ascent and descent of Ingleborough, or an easier seven-mile route from Clapham to Settle. The aim of the event, on Saturday, September 28, is for enjoyment as well as fundraising, and there will be no entry fee or minimum fundraising requirement.
The walks are open to all-comers and there is no need to be a member of the society. Walkers just need to be reasonably fit and enjoy being in the outdoors.
Participants will meet at Settle shortly after 9am and will travel by Pennine service bus to the start of the walks. Full joining details and sponsorship forms can be obtained from Ann at ann.shadrake @yds.org.uk or by calling (01756) 749400.
All money raised will go to support the work of the society, which helps protect and promote enjoyment of the unique landscapes and heritage of the Dales.
