Horsforth salon owner set for Tough Mudder challenge for Iona
10:00am Friday 6th September 2013 in Local news
A salon owner will be putting himself through a gruelling obstacle course to help a teenager to breathe.
Nick Moscovitch is putting himself to the test to help buy vital oxygen equipment for 16-year-old Iona Kesteven who works as a Saturday girl in his salon, and who suffers from cystic fibrosis.
Nick, 37, is appealing for sponsorship in the Tough Mudder hardcore 12 mile-long obstacle courses designed by the Special Forces to test all around strength, stamina, and mental grit.
The businessman, who owns The Green hair salon in Horsforth, has been in training for the challenge on Sunday.
Nick said Iona desperately needed a portable oxygen concentrator which costs around £4,000. The equipment will help to make it easier for her to breathe and to enjoy a normal life.
“My ambition has been to raise enough funds to contribute or if possible raise enough money so Iona can get the equipment she needs to enjoy her day to day life like all other 16-year-old girls,” Nick said.
