4:54pm Friday 22nd March 2013 in Local news
Summer DalesBus services are to come into operation over the Easter weekend.
The DalesBus network beings to introduce its summer timetables on Easter Sunday, linking Ilkley and Otley with popular visitor destinations in the Yorkshire Dales.
Cravenlink buses will link Skipton and Ilkley throughout the day with several journeys serving Embsay and Bolton Abbey whilst regular services will operate to Malham from both Skipton and Settle.
The Malham to Settle service operates via Malham Tarn and after last year’s successful trial some trips will continue to Austwick, Clapham and Ingleton.
There will be additional services between Ilkley, Bolton Abbey, Grassington, Kettlewell and Buckden with the iconic 800 Yorkshire Dalesman service over Kidstones Pass to Aysgarth and Hawes is reintroduced for the summer season.
Buses between Ilkley and Bolton Abbey run up to every half hour at peak times of demand! New for 2013 is a late afternoon bus from Arncliffe at 5.38pm to Buckden, Kettlewell, Grassington, Skipton and Ilkley.
This Fellwalker bus is designed specifically for walkers undertaking linear walks across the Dales from Malham, Horton or Settle and will accept return train tickets to Settle and Horton for travel to connecting trains at Skipton Station.
The DalesBus network is unique in the UK being managed by volunteers from the Dales and Bowland Community Interest Company, minimising overheads and ensuring that services are tailored to meet customer demand.
