9:00pm Monday 18th March 2013 in Local news
A Guiseley-based family run vets has been named as one of the best companies in the country to work for.
White Cross Vets, which has 12 practices including Bradford Road in Guiseley, was named as an ‘extraordinary place to work,’ and has become the first ever veterinary group to receive the top three star rating in the prestigious Sunday Times ‘Top 100 Best Small Companies To Work For’ league table.
The company was ranked 48th overall after staff voluntarily completed anonymous surveys, before being interviewed, to help the firm see off competition from more than 1,000 other businesses that were in the running for a place on the list.
White Cross Vets, which employs a 90-strong team and was established in 1937, was highly praised for its commitment to personal development, wellbeing and leadership.
Tim Harrison, managing director at the vets said: “The training, development and team-building opportunities our team benefits from ensures everyone is happy and confident in their work environment and this translates directly to the positive service our clients and their pets receive.
“We genuinely care about our people and we also place a lot of emphasis on making a positive contribution to the communities in which we operate.
“Our company ethos focuses on quality and integrity and the fact that our team is so happy is testament to the way in which the business operates.
“To be named as one of the best places to work in the UK is a major coup and to receive the highly coveted three stars is the icing on the cake.”
The Sunday Times ‘Top 100 Best Small Companies To Work For’ listing was established 12 years ago to recognise and reward excellence in the workplace.
