Easter fun and games on offer at Otley school
8:00am Saturday 16th March 2013 in Local news
Children from across Wharfedale will be able to enjoy everything from breakdancing to cycling at an Otley school over the Easter holidays.
A variety of fun activities, organised by the Otley, Pool and Bramhope Cluster of Extended Services, will be held at Prince Henry’s Grammar School from Monday, April 8 to Wednesday, April 10.
The programme includes dance, creative, cycling, glee club and games sessions for five to seven-year-olds, while older children can try their hand at multi-sports, staging a musical, joining a Rock School, or working with breakdance crew Firefly. All of the activities cost £2 each.
Cluster manager Phil Temple said: “This new programme has been created by our new activities co-ordinator Katherine Robertshaw, who works for the Cluster one day a week.
“The Cluster works with families across the area and we want to increase the number of exciting activities, available at a reasonable price, during the holidays and outside school time.
“We have kept the prices very low so as many families as possible can come to the courses and Prince Henry’s has not charged us for using the buildings in the holidays, which helps enormously.
“Anyone can come along but places are limited, so parents should get their bookings in now.”
Leaflets, with more details about the activities, have been distributed through local primary schools but more details are also available by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org or visiting the website at princehenrys.co.uk
There is also an opportunity for students aged over 13 to get involved as leaders.
The Cluster, which works to support families across Otley, Pool and Bramhope, brings together the local schools and the various youth and children’s services.
