Luck of the draw as Ilkley man wins £1,000 pub prize

A lucky customer from Leeds pub The Hourglass has walked away with £1,000 as winner of a national customer survey award.
Sam Stinton, 22, of Ilkley, was picked at random from hundreds of customers who completed customer satisfaction surveys following visits to pubs in the 540-strong Stonegate Pub Company estate.
He was automatically entered into a draw to win the cash prize which was presented to him at the pub. Sam, who works for a furniture store in Skipton, said: “I never expected to win when I filled in the survey so it was a huge and very welcome surprise when I received the news. In fact, I thought it was a joke then I first got the call to say I’d won. I’d visited The Hourglass a few times before and that day, my girlfriend and I had popped into the pub for a bite to eat. I’ve decided to save some of the money and spend the rest on a holiday in the summer.”
