Free Bradford talk on coping with learning disabilities
9:00am Friday 8th March 2013 in Local news
Bradford District Care Trust is holding a free talk on understanding the reasons why people with learning disabilities can express challenging behaviour.
Jeanie McNeil, specialist occupational therapist will give first-hand examples of how staff at the Trust have worked with people with learning disabilities to improve and control their challenging behaviours.
Jeanie said: “It’s very common for people with learning disabilities to have challenging behaviour. It is important to think about why a person’s behaviour is challenging.
“To them, the world is a confusing place and they might not understand why things happen. Feelings of confusion can cause challenging behaviour.”
The talk is on Thursday, March 14, at the Hilton Hotel, Hall Ings, Bradford, from 1.30pm to 3pm or 6pm to 7.30pm.
