Sheep will be a model way to help raise Aireborough charity cash

A model sheep race will raise money for sick children and to educate youngsters around the world.

A satellite group of the Rotary Club of Aireborough will run the event to raise money for Martin House Hospice and Chameleon, which develops and supports education on an international level.

The Aireborough Nomads run their Charity Sheepstakes Race Night on Friday, March 1 from 7.30pm to 11pm at Horsforth Golf Club.

The event will feature 10 races, including a ladies’ race, with members of the audience being randomly selected by raffle to take part.

Tickets cost £5 and include a ploughman’s supper. They are available by e-mailing t.scaife@btinternet.com or from Bill Kerr on 0113 2502483 The Club’s last charity evening, the Band Concert, led to more than £3,000 being shared between Help for Heroes, ABF – the Soldiers’ Charity and local Aireborough charities.
