Charity planning fundraising walk along Ilkley riverside
12:00pm Sunday 10th February 2013 in Local news
A charity which gives children with Down’s syndrome a brighter and more inclusive future is organising a family sponsored walk around the Riverside Gardens in Ilkley.
The event is planned for Sunday, May 12 and all money raised will go towards the running costs of The Down Syndrome Training and Support Service, which has its headquarters in Bingley.
Families are encouraged to sign up and gain sponsorship for the sponsored walk, cycle and push.
The registered charity was founded by Wendy Uttley in September 2000 with just four families but now its work includes providing training courses which are attended by more than 500 parents and professionals from across Yorkshire each year and more than 210 families with children with Down’s syndrome are supported by the group.
Contact Wendy Uttley or Wendy Rhodes at the charity on (01274) 561308 or e-mail: office@downsyndromebradford.co.uk for further information.
