Craven ward councillor meetings continue

Six-monthly meetings to bring together council-lors in Addingham, Silsden and Steeton are to continue.

The gatherings allow councillors to learn what is going on across the whole Craven ward.

The councillors talk about the needs of individual villages as well as identifying issues that affect the entire ward.

Councillor Andrew Mallinson, who hosts the meetings, said there was also an opportunity for joint projects.

He said the Bradford councillors learned about issues raised by residents that might not have filtered up from parish level.

Coun Mallinson said the meeting last autumn focused on how parishes were responding to the Local Development Framework, a blueprint for new houses across the district.

He said: “Everyone has their own perspective.”

The next meeting of the parishes is due to be held in February.
