A fundraising cafe near Otley has chosen Behind Closed Doors as its good cause for 2013.

Cock Pit Farm Tea Rooms, at Weston, has raised thousands of pounds for several local charities by holding raffles, producing calendars and other events over the past three years.

Its efforts in 2012 alone, for Leeds homeless shelter St George’s Crypt, raised £3,647.

Otley-based Behind Closed Doors, which supports victims of domestic abuse, was chosen as the cafe’s charity for 2013 by customers who put forward suggestions and then voted on a shortlist.

Owner Sue Sansbury said: “We’re very pleased with what we raised for St George’s Crypt.

“We’ll be doing all sorts of things again this year for Behind Closed Doors.”
