Organise a quiz to raise funds for charity

First published in Local news

Residents in Wharfedale and Aireborough are being asked to organise a quiz to help Macmillan Cancer Support.

The charity is holding its Mammoth Quiz fundraiser in February and is hoping to beat last year’s record-breaking event, which saw 2,679 people taking part.

The questions are drawn up by Macmillan’s fundraising committee which sends out quiz packs to local volunteers, who just need to register and get some friends to agree to take part on Friday, February 22.

Fundraising manager for Macmillan Cancer Support Leeds and Bradford, Hayley Cooke, said: “We are really excited about this year’s Mammoth Quiz.

“We are hoping to get 100 people in West Yorkshire to host a quiz so we need your help. Being part of the Mammoth Quiz is really easy and such great fun. We are hoping this event will keep on growing.”

Anyone interested in holding a quiz, which can be held on an alternative date if it is more convenient, should send an e-mail to anna@ or call (01832) 274075.
