Farmers urged to be vigilant over rural crime
8:40am Thursday 3rd January 2013 in Local news
Rural landowners are being urged to review security to cut the risk of thefts of equipment and vehicles.
The Country Land and Business Association said a combination of dark nights and economic uncertainty were a “recipe for an increase in rural crime”.
CLA North regional director Dorothy Fairburn said: “With the added catalysts of a fragile economy and belt-tightening measures, we are already starting to see a swell of rural crime such as theft and fly-tipping.”
