METHODIST CHURCH: Thank you to ‘The Moornotes’ for their support and to Ben Rhydding residents who kindly contributed to the total of £80 raised for NCH Action for Children by the carol party before Christmas. Soup lunches recommence this Friday from noon. On Sunday at 10.30am the service will be led by Mick Dock. Next Wednesday at 7.30pm, Meeting Point will be at the home of Peter and Patsy Bastow. The speaker will be Gary Knamiller, a representative of Water Aid which is our charity for the year, and he will be speaking particularly about Ethiopia.
WOMEN’S INSTITUTE: The first meeting of 2013 is on January 10, when Alan Wilson will be giving the intriguingly entitled talk From Keukenhof to Wharfedale. The competition this month is for a comical Christmas card and we will be having a sales table for unwanted Christmas presents with proceeds going to our funds. As usual we meet at 2pm at Ben Rhydding Methodist Church hall. Visitors at £3 and prospective members are always welcome to come along for an interesting afternoon in good company.
