A section of Burley-in-Wharfedale’s Main Street could be closed for up to five days in January while water company works take place.
A contractor working on behalf of Yorkshire Water has applied for permission to close a short section of the road, between the junctions with Sun Lane and Far Mead Croft, between January 14 and 18.
It is hoped the work will be finished by January 16.
The work will involve the construction of a manhole chamber to prevent flooding at a property on Main Street. Traffic diversion details are being finalised.
The road closure is expected to begin at 10am on January 14. Advance warning signs will be in place from January 7.
