9:29am Thursday 22nd November 2012 in Local news By Amanda Greaves
A man has been jailed for conspiracy to commit arson at an Addingham shop.
Tyrone Jeffers, 27, of Roberts Avenue, Leeds, was jailed for ten months for conspiracy to commit arson at the The Village Store, Addingham.
He was also jailed for more than five years in addition for conspiracy to supply class A drugs, which he was charged with alongside three other men in Leeds.
Jeffers admitted the conspiracy to commit arson charge on June 15 and was sentenced at Leeds Crown Court on Monday.
The charge resulted from a blaze at the shop on Main Street, Addingham, in April last year.
Police yesterday welcomed the sentence.
Detective Constable, Jim Singleton of Airedale and North Bradford CID said: "Detectives carried out a lengthy and professional investigation with the assistance of local people which has now resulted in this positive outcome.
"It is pleasing to see that the severities of his actions have been recognised by the courts, and that this man will now be removed from our streets for some considerable time."
