Christmas has come early for an Ilkley woman who has won the ultimate literature fan’s dream.
As headline sponsor of this year’s Ilkley Literature Festival, Skipton Building Society ran a free prize draw giving the public the opportunity to win an Amazon Kindle.
Over 500 people entered and Helen Rice, who completed her entry form in the society’s Ilkley branch, was randomly drawn as the winner.
Mrs Rice said: “I couldn’t believe it when the Skipton rang me to say I’d won their Ilkley Literature Festival free prize draw. I’ve never won anything in my life and was delighted to find out I’d won a Kindle. I’m really looking forward to getting to grips with it and seeing what all the fuss is about.”
