Musicians from the newly formed Wharfedale Chamber Ensemble will perform in Ilkley this weekend.
The concert at Christchurch on Saturday will feature a quartet of section leaders from the group and generate funds for itself and the church’s Raise the Roof appeal.
Local violinist Clare Richards formed the ensemble to bring talented musicians from the area together.
She said: “We started the chamber orchestra in July this year so that musicians of grade 7 and above could play together and perform for friends and family.
“Most of our concerts are informal, family-friendly affairs in the afternoons, though this one is on a Saturday evening.”
The programme for the 7.30pm show includes three pieces from Mozart and three pieces from Bruch.
Tickets cost £8, or £5 to anyone aged 16 or under, and will be available on the door.
The full orchestra’s next concert, meanwhile, will take place at St Mary's Parish Church in Burley-in-Wharfedale on February 10 at 4.30pm.
