The Rotary Club of Ilkley run an annual handwriting competition for Year 4 pupils at local primary schools.

This year, all ten schools participated. The overall best school was Westville, with winning pupil, Max Barratt, receiving a Lamy fountain pen and a certificate. A winning school certificate was presented to the headmistress, Mrs Rosey James. The presentation was made by president John Metcalf of The Rotary Club of Ilkley.

The presentation of the cup, to be held for a year, will be made to Westville School once it is engraved.

Lamy fountain pens were also issued to the best pupils in the other nine participating schools.
