Horsforth Froebelian School pupil enjoy supermarket visit

The reception class at Froebelian School in Horsforth had some excited four and five-year-old children when they went to visit their local Morrisons supermarket.
The children were given a warm welcome and introduced to lots of exotic fruit and vegetables, learning about where they came from.
They then visited the bakery, which the children found fascinating.
They got to watch a variety of breads being made and learnt how to make a ring of bread which they were able to take back to school with them.
They also enjoyed sampling freshly-made bread. When they arrived back at school, the children enjoyed the ring of bread with homemade vegetable soup, made with vegetables grown by the school gardening club.
Kimberley Sibson, reception class teacher, said: “The children really enjoyed their visit. They learnt so much, which ties in perfectly with their lessons at the moment where they have been learning about different food in preparation for harvest festival.
