A HERITAGE walk to the Twelve Apostles stone circle was the 9th of 26 events being staged by the Friends of Ilkley Moor this year.

A “Heritage Walk” the 9th of 26 Events organised this year by The Friends of Ilkley Moor took place on Wednesday.

The walk last Wednesday (July 2), led by Friends' project pfficer, Tracy Gray, started from White Wells car park continued past White Wells up the steps to the moorland path which eventually links the new stone flagged path to the Twelve Apostles and beyond.

The group then returned on the stone path past the trig point and down Keighley Road.

A total of 5.5 miles in length and over 1,200 ft in ascent took about 2.5 hours to complete in strong sunshine but with a cooling breeze on the tops.

Further information about other “Heritage Walks” and events can be found in the Friends Events and Learning Programme which can be downloaded from the website www.ilkleymoor.org or copies can be collected from Ilkley Information Office and shops and cafes in the town.
