FORUM 2000: The forum has had its Easter break and is back at work with a change in programme for April 30 as Roger Dedman was unfortunately unable to give his talk which has been rescheduled for January 21. Fortunately Simon Tomson was able to replace him with Three Battles, two Castles and a Psalter. Simon last came to Forum 2000 with a wonderful talk on the Ravenna Mosaics. On May 7 Pat Clarke will whet appetites for holiday sight-seeing when he asks How well do you know Wharfedale? He is a lover of the landscape and architecture and has a selection of slides covering the Wharfe from its source to Bolton Abbey which he hopes will show people, places and scenes with which they might not be familiar as well as those which are better known. This is the last talk until September as on May 14 members will be going to Renishaw Hall, family seat for 400 years of the Sitwell family including the literary figures Osbert, Sacheveral and Edith. They will tour the hall and then be able to explore the gardens. There are still seats available for this trip. Forum 2000 meets on Wednesdays at 10am in The Grove Centre, New Street, Horsforth, LS18 4BH. Everyone is welcome. Contact (0113) 2583521.
