Addingham beer festival gets under way

A village’s second beer festival kicks off today with more than 30 brews for real ale lovers.

Top tipples from Yorkshire and further afield will be available, plus half-a-dozen ciders and a cocktail bar, at the Addingham Beer Festival, which also runs tomorrow at Addingham Memorial Hall.

As well as the beer, Masterchef finalist and new chef at the village’s Craven Heifer pub, Tom Rennolds, will give a series of short presentations during the Saturday afternoon session, matching a number of the festival beers with food he has prepared that will be on offer for people to sample.

There is one session today, from 6pm until late, and two sessions tomorrow, from noon to 4pm and 6pm until late.

Tickets cost £5, which includes entry to a session plus a festival glass and a detailed programme . They are available from the addinghambeerfestival.co.uk website or The Addingham Newsagents, The Fleece and The Swan (both in Addingham), as well as La Stazione in Ilkley.

All funds raised will go towards charitable projects of Friends of Addingham Primary School.
