Hundreds of classic cars, lorries, buses and tractors will be displayed in Otley this weekend.
The 2012 Otley Vintage Transport Extravaganza will see nearly 500 vehicles, including a Rolls Royce, steam engines and old bicycles, gathered at Knotford Nook bet-ween 10am and 4pm on Sunday.
Other attractions include a Bernese Mountain Dogs display, model steam railway, fairground, charity and community stalls, trampolines, a children’s party fire engine and Punch and Judy shows.
Live music comes courtesy of the Knaresborough Accordion and Fiddle Band, Hall Royd brass band and the City of Leeds Pipe Band.
Organiser and Otley town councillor, Nigel Francis (Ind, Danefield), is hoping the weather stays fine so as many people as possible can enjoy the event, swelling coffers of the Otley-based children’s charity, Hang On To A Dream, of which he is chairman.
He said: “It looks like we will have an event the whole town can enjoy.
“Many of the vehicles are travelling from all over Yorkshire and Lancashire to be here, and they range from large artic units to cars from the 20s, vintage bicycles to a state-of-the-art Rolls Royce.
“Static engines and tractors should keep local farmers happy!”
Entry is £3 for adults, £2.50 for concessions, with accompanied children aged under 14 admitted for free. Contact Coun Francis on (01943) 463467, send an e-mail to nigelfrancis@btinternet.com or visit otleyvintagetransportextrava-ganza.vpweb.co.uk for details.
