Otley Parish Cubs with the latest ShelterBox, which was bought through their fundraising efforts
A Wharfedale cub pack is celebrating raising enough money to send its third ShelterBox to disaster victims overseas.
Otley Parish Cubs, helped by other members of the local Scouting group, raised the funds by holding a bag pack at Otley’s Asda supermarket, as well as a homemade cake stall on a wet and windy Saturday in the market square.
Proceeds have been used to buy a £590 ShelterBox packed with items, including a relief tent for an extended family, blankets and cooking and water storage equipment, designed to help people survive the aftermath of a disaster.
The cubs, whose previous two ShelterBoxes have gone to help people in Kenya, presented a cheque from their fund-raising to David Henderson, from ShelterBox, at their Scout hut.
An international disaster charity, ShelterBox delivers emergency shelter, warmth and life-saving supplies to families in need around the world.
