Brownies rallied round to raise money after hearing about a charity which trains dogs to help disabled people.

The youngsters were inspired to help after a talk by former Rainbow Leader Michelle Maughan, who suffers from multiple sclerosis. Michelle has a dog, Tyke, provided by the charity Dogs for the Disabled.

Members of the 2nd Rawdon Trinity Brownies, based at Trinity Church, raised more than £360 for the charity with a sponsored walk around Yeadon Tarn and with a cake stall at a parade morning.

Brownie leader Pamela Slater said the girls had decided they wanted to raise money for Dogs for the Disabled after Michelle came to talk to them and brought Tyke along.
